During the summer of 2016, I packed my bags and moved to New York City to complete my first internship with JetBlue Airways. My position was a Digital Experience Intern, apart of their College Crew Internship Program. I worked on the web & mobile team with the goal of improving user experience through webpage initiatives and projects. This included researching JetBlue's brand guidelines, creating an updated pattern library, and documenting the process and procedures for updating code on JetBlue's website. One of my main focuses while creating the pattern library was to make sure JetBlue's styles met all WCAG requirements for the deaf, hard of hearing, the blind, and the color blind. JetBlue aims to be the first company in the airline industry to make all of their webpages completely accessible to people with disabilities. This was my second time working with a client in which I had to seriously consider accessibility. Overall, I not only learned what it is like to work with a team of creatives, but also the ins and outs of the airline industry.
