Discover an easy mind

Mindfulness is the study of becoming aware of your physical well being or emotions. Sometimes college students do not know how to identify how they are feeling, so this application can help them become aware of their emotions and gives them an ally’s voice to help support them. The prompt was to focus on the motions of UX design. Due to my interests in wellness and health, I chose an interaction from the physical world, and brought it online to create an experience that would positively affect the user's mindset.

Identifying Worries

The user begins by identifying which area they are most worried about that day. There are four categories they can choose from; anxiety, relationships, health, and focus. The user then sets an intention for that day. This affirmation allows the user to be reminded of their goals and specifies how they can support themselves, while coming from the voice of an ally.

 

Worry Stone

The final interaction is with the worry stone. This action of gently moving the thumb back and forth across a traditional worry stone, or in this case the screen, calms the user. While this happens they are reminded of their affirmation. In this case to “Breathe”. They then have the ability to acknowledge their feelings, & redirect their thoughts, letting go of the uncomfortable emotions.
